Minister commends UEW staff for backing VC, management during brouhaha
Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan, has praised the staff of the University of Education, Winneba, (UEW) for standing behind the Vice Chancellor and the university management during the chaos that rocked the university campus recently.
The University was in the news not long ago over students and staff agitations that led to its closure.
Speaking at the commissioning of a food court and a clothing production unit at the University, Kwamena Duncan was optimistic if the university management was supported to the fullest, it would have the peace of mind to execute many development projects.
“it is only a university with the necessary peace of mind that can focus on development. If the university does not have peace, nothing works there. It is on this basis that I commend the senior staff of the university and all of you for standing solidly behind the VC and the University management to achieve this,” he said.
He encouraged the senior staff and members of the university community to continue keeping faith with the Vice Chancellor and the university management to ensure that there is total peace on the campus of the University.
“It is only through this, that we will continue to see developments as beautiful as this,” he averred.
The Regional Minister was convinced the food court will guarantee a safer learning environment for the students and the various actors on the university campus.
Vice Chancellor of UEW, Rev. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni thanked the Regional Minister and the government for their continued interest in the growth of the university and assured the university would continue to fulfil its mandate as an educational institution of international repute.
