A disqualified parliamentary aspirant of the National Democratic Congress in the Odododiodioo constituency, Michael Nii Yarboi Annan, is discontented with the Functional Executive Committee’s (FEC) decision to disqualify him from the contest.

The FEC, in a statement, said he was disqualified based on a report from the Special Committee investigating the violence that erupted during the parliamentary aspirants’ vetting in the Odododiodioo Constituency on October 13, 2023.

However, Mr Yarboi claimed that the committee’s decision was wrong and indicated he would seek redress.

“I am a solid person and I don’t take things to heart. I believe that there are laid down procedures that we can use and other avenues that we can use to seek redress if we are unhappy.

“Clearly, I am unhappy, and I believe that the decision is wrong. And therefore I have also directed my lawyers to work towards that,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Yarboi in an earlier statement also condemned the attack at the NDC Headquarters in Accra by some of his aggrieved supporters on Wednesday.

According to reports, the angry supporters dumped refuse in front of the party headquarters, disrupting traffic flow.

Some of the supporters also hurled bricks and other missiles, damaging windows of buildings at the party headquarters.
