Menzgold lawyer distances himself from struggling company’s payment promise

Lawyer for Menzgold, Kwame Boafo Akuffo has distanced himself from the company’s promise to begin refunds to agitated customers.

Menzgold, in a statement, indicated that payment would be done through the legal team of Kwame Akuffo & Co. Unlimited.

“Claims shall be settled in full and shall be subject to an invitation from our legal team; Kwame Akuffo & Co. Unlimited, strictly following the below indicated scheduled hierarchical order, all to be settled within 36 months starting from December 2019, ” extracts of the statement read.

But in sharp contrast to that instruction given by the gold dealership company, the legal firm appears to completely distance itself from the payment schedule.

The firm, in a statement signed by Kwame Boafo Akuffo, has stated categorically that the firm is not in a capacity to carry out the said instructions from Menzgold.

“We do not have the capacity to carry out such exercise. The firm is therefore unable to accept instructions in that regard, ” the statement clearly spells this out.

The statement also added that they have advised Menzgold to engage the services of a third party to undertake the exercise.
