Mentally challenged person beheads man in brutal attack at Tema

Police in Tema are investigating a chilling incident after arresting a man found carrying a human head in a bag near the Black Stars Line Harbour in Community 1.

The suspect, identified only as Ali, was apprehended in the early afternoon of Friday by officers who were alerted by bystanders.

According to a police source, Ali is believed to be mentally unstable and was wandering when he was stopped.

Inside his bag, officers discovered the head of a man known in the community by the nickname ‘Cameroon’.

Initial reports say Ali gave conflicting statements to CID officers. In one account, he claimed there had been a misunderstanding between him and the deceased.

He said he attacked the man in his sleep, struck him with a block, and later used a knife to remove his head.

In another version of the story, the suspect told police that someone in the community had asked him to bring a human head, which led to the gruesome act.

Police have since arrested the second individual mentioned in the suspect’s confession.

Authorities have cordoned off the area and say investigations are ongoing to determine the true motive and verify the suspect’s mental health status.

The community remains in shock as residents try to come to terms with the disturbing incident.
