Mawuena Trebah: Business leader & late Komla Dumor’s sister passes away

Ghanaian business leader and sister of the late Komla Dumor, Mrs. Mawuena Adzo Trebah, has died.

Mrs. Trebah passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, the day before her birthday, however, the cause of her death is yet to be confirmed.

 

Mrs. Trebah had an illustrious career in various industries and politics, holding leadership positions in each of them.

She was the first female CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) from 2013 to 2017 and also served as Ghana’s first female underground exploration geologist at Ashanti Goldfields Company Ltd.

She later held positions as head of Corporate Communications at Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd. and head of Corporate Services at Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN).

Mrs. Trebah was also the founding director and Chief Business Strategist at Inspire Africa.

In 2020, she assumed the role of deputy spokesperson for John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Election 2020 Campaign. Furthermore, she served as the spokesperson and Head of Communications for the office of Mahama’s running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

Mawuena Adzo Trebarh leaves behind her husband, Flight Lieutenant Divine Trebarh and their daughter, Katherine Joy.
