The newly appointed Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has made significant changes to the leadership structure within the Ghana Police Service.
The Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Police Service, in a statement on March 19, 2025, announced the reassignment of senior officers to various directorates and regional commands as part of this restructuring.
These changes take effect immediately.
It comes a few days after COP Yohuno was sworn in as Ghana’s IGP on Friday, March 14, 2025.
He took over from Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, who was replaced on Thursday, March 13, 2025, after serving for more than three years since his appointment on July 21, 2021.
During his oath of office, COP Yohuno committed to steering a modern, efficient, and accountable police service, with a particular focus on crime prevention, discipline, and enhancing public safety.
His appointment represents a significant new chapter for law enforcement in Ghana, with expectations to advance modernisation and transformation efforts to address current security challenges.
