Arsenal FC manager Mikel Arteta has praised the performances of Martin Zubimendi as the Spanish midfielder plays out his debut season in the English Premier League.
Since joining the Gunners in the 2025 main transfer window, the former Real Sociedad player has excelled and his latest top level performance came in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Chelsea.
Zubimendi scored Arsenal’s third goal in the win after showing brilliant close control inside the penalty box before delivering a fine finish in the Carabao Cup semifinals first leg.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s league tie against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, January 17, Arteta shared his impressions of Zubimendi stating to Arsenal’s media that,
“Very happy, in the manner that he has settled at the club.”

“He has earned the respect of everyone here very very quickly and of the supporters. Incredibly consistent. And on top of that, he has surprised a few people with his ability to attack in the box.”

Arsenal lead the standings and hold a six point lead over second ranked Manchester City.
