About 50 members of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church have sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident involving four vehicles.

The incident occurred at Menskrom Weija Junction on the Accra-Kasoa highway.

The four vehicles involved in the accident were a Tata bus belonging to Resurrection Power New Generation Church, an old Benz, a KIA Rio taxi, and a Toyota Vitz belonging to a police officer.

According to eyewitnesses, the police officer, travelling from the Kasoa tollbooth to Accra, attempted a wrong overtaking manoeuvre, resulting in a collision with the church bus.

Upon reaching the Weija junction traffic light, the police car crashed into the church bus, which then collided with two other vehicles parked on the roadside.

Two church members are feared dead, while many others have sustained serious injuries.

The bus was carrying approximately 80 passengers, including children.

A taxi driver, whose vehicle was also affected in the collision, blamed the police officer.

The Ghana National Fire Service and police personnel were at the scene to ensure a smooth traffic flow.
