The lifeless body of a man, believed to be in his early 30’s, has been found near the Pentecost Church at Dunkwa in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region.
The scene was discovered on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
What caused the demise of the yet-to-be-identified man is not immediately known.
However, residents suspect that he must have been lynched elsewhere and deposited in the area as no incident of assault on anyone has been recorded in the area.
The deceased was reportedly found lying with marks of assault all over his body. Strangely, the crime scene was also spotted with concrete blocks, sticks, and rods, even though the neighborhood claims it knows nothing about the case.
According to sources, the deceased is not known in the community.
The Odikro of the Dunkwa community, Nana Kwesi Amoah V who confirmed the incident said, the case was reported to the police to convey the body.
Some residents expressed shock over the incident, adding that the development has caused fear and panic in the Dunkwa community and the Ekumfi District at large.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Saltpond Government Hospital Mortuary for investigation.
Meanwhile, Opinion Leaders in the Community are calling on the general public to support them to identify the deceased.
