A 28-year-old man was lynched after killing his ex-girlfriend and inflicting machete wounds on her twin sister at Eyan Oboom in the Central Region.
Information gathered indicates that the man, Bentsil Bubarick who was an ex-convict, stormed the residence of his ex-lover, an identical twin only identified as Atta Kakra on Thursday, November 2, 2023, to attack her.
He instead attacked the other twin with a machete thinking she was Atta Kakra and stabbed their father in the process.
However, timely intervention from some neighbors saved her life after she was rushed to the Ajumako District Government Hospital.
Bentsil took to his heels after the incident.
On Friday, November 3, Atta Kakra granted an interview at her residence with some journalists explaining that she had broken off the relationship with Bentsil after he refused to quit smoking marijuana.
Barely an hour after the journalists left, the suspect returned and hacked his ex-girlfriend to death after realizing he had attacked the wrong twin.
He reportedly dragged her body dumped it in a nearby river and attempted to flee the town again.
This time, the angry residents gave him a hot chase and apprehended him hours later beating him to death.
His body was subsequently deposited at Ajumako Mando Etuafoa Mortuary after the police were called to the scene.
