A man believed to be in his late thirties has been found dead at Gomoa Biakoye in the Central Region.

Information gathered indicates that the deceased was a mason from the Volta Region who resided in Gomoa Biakoye.

It is reported that the body was found following a distress call to the Gomoa Buduburam Police.

His body was found in an uncompleted building behind the Gomoa East Electoral Commission office.

The odour emanating from the building led residents to discover the decomposing body.

The Gomoa Buduburam District Police Command, together with environmental officers, transported the body to the Police Hospital morgue.

Police have commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

This incident comes after an 81-year-old man was found dead with his left hand and ankle severed after going missing for two weeks at Kwatiri, near Odumase, in the Sunyani West District of the Bono Region.

The deceased, Samuel Korang, alias True, was reported to be mentally unstable.

Mr Korang had left home two weeks ago, and all efforts to find him proved futile.

The family confirmed that their father was sick, which left him mentally unstable, but he was on treatment.

They explained that Mr. Korang usually left home and always returned later.

However, they kept searching for him for two weeks, reported the incident to the police, and had some radio stations announce it on their platforms.

Samuel Korang was never found until his mortal remains were discovered in a decomposing state along a river bank by a farmer.

According to the farmer, he was on his way to his poultry farm but branched to his palm farm to harvest some mushrooms.

When he arrived at the site, there was an unpleasant odour emanating from the other side of his land.

He walked to the scene, only to find the lifeless body of the old man.
