Man Found Dead At Mankessim Cemetery
A yet-to-be-identified man believed to be in his late 30s has been found dead at the Mankessim cemetery in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.
The lifeless body was discovered Friday morning, November 17, 2023.
Some residents said they suspect the young man was murdered somewhere and his body dumped at the cemetery.
The deceased had injuries on parts of his body.
At the time of filing this report, the police were yet to retrieve the body from the cemetery.
Some residents disclosed living in fear and had called for heightened security.
This is the second case involving the dumping of a body within two days.
In the first incident, a man believed to be in his 40s was found dead in the Densu River at Torgahkope in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
According to Unit Committee Member for Domeabra, Joseph Akrashie, he received a distress phone call informing him of a suspected murder.
The caller reported that an individual had been killed and thrown into the Densu River.
When he rushed to the scene, Akrashie, along with others, found the lifeless body submerged in the river.
He said they were unable to recognise the deceased due to the decomposing state of the body.
Mr Akrashie said they called police from Danchira, who managed to retrieve the body from the river whilst investigations commenced.
