A tragic accident in the Ashanti Region has claimed the life of a man known by locals as “Alligator.”
The incident occurred on August 1 in Ejisu during an attempt to load a bulldozer onto a low-bed trailer.
According to eyewitnesses, the trailer reportedly suffered a brake failure just as Alligator was standing on top of the bulldozer, guiding the loading process.
The sudden malfunction caused him to lose his balance and fall. He became trapped beneath the heavy machinery and died instantly.
Alligator was a familiar face in the area, often seen working at construction sites. Residents say he was hardworking and always ready to lend a hand.
“He was always full of energy and willing to help. It’s painful to see his life end this way,” one resident shared.
Emergency services arrived shortly after the incident, and his body was transported to the Ejisu Government Hospital mortuary.
Police have since begun an investigation to understand what went wrong and to prevent future occurrences of such accidents.
Meanwhile, authorities are urging workers and contractors to ensure safety checks are done thoroughly before beginning such high-risk tasks.
