Man, 22, lynched at Wassa Akropong

A 22-year-old man, Kenten Yeboah, lost his life in a tragic event on Monday dawn in Wassa Akropong, Western region.

Yeboah was allegedly attacked by a mob who accused him of theft while visiting a friend’s residence.

Information gathered indicates that Yeboah was attacked when he stepped out of the home of his friend who was not around.

According to Yeboah’s brother, Nana Dwomfour, some individuals identified Yeboah as a friend of the tenant (Yeboah’s friend), but others mistakenly believed him to be a thief.

They accused him of being a member of a gang involved in a series of crimes in the area.

The situation escalated, resulting in Yeboah being subjected to mob action.

The friend’s landlord also locked him in a room and whipped him mercilessly with a cable.

After being released, Yeboah returned home in critical condition and he passed on when his family was preparing to rush him to the hospital.

Local authorities have taken three individuals, including the landlord, into custody in connection with the incident while others are on the run.

Investigation into the situation has commenced.
