A recent poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics indicates widespread public backing for several significant recommendations outlined in the report from the Constitutional Review Commission, which was published earlier this month.
The findings reveal that a majority of voters support the proposal to extend the presidential term from four to five years.
The poll, released on Monday, December 29, 2025, shows that 57 percent of respondents favour this change, while 36 percent are opposed to it.
The remaining seven percent indicated that they did not have an opinion on the matter.
The survey also reveals considerable support for a recommendation that would prevent members of parliament from holding ministerial positions.
Regarding this proposal, 58 percent of voters expressed their approval, in contrast to 32 percent who disapprove. Ten percent of respondents stated they had no opinion.
Public sentiment is similarly positive towards the idea of lowering the minimum age required to run for president.
The poll discovered that 55 percent of voters support reducing the age threshold, while 35 percent are against it. An additional 10 percent reported having no opinion.
Global InfoAnalytics carried out the poll between December 1 and December 21, 2025. The survey employed a mixed-method approach, incorporating web-based questionnaires, telephone interviews, and face-to-face interviews.
A total of 13,495 voters from across the nation were sampled.
