President John Mahama has directed the investigative agencies in Ghana to probe allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering involving two suspicious flights at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

This comes after the Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, made the allegations during a press conference on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

He alleged that the two flights landed in Ghana in early March and departed for Gran Canaria, a Spanish island, on March 25.

He added that the flights—an air ambulance and a private jet—allegedly remained in the country for several days before their departure, raising concerns over their purpose and cargo.

In a Facebook statement, President Mahama said he has asked the key investigative agencies to collaborate with Rev. Fordjour and thoroughly examine the claims.

“I have directed all relevant investigative agencies to immediately and fully collaborate with the honourable member of parliament so he provides all necessary information to investigate the allegations and take all action necessary to expose any drug dealing,” President Mahama stated.

He highlighted the government’s zero-tolerance policy on drug-related activities and pointed to a recent high-profile drug bust by the National Investigation Bureau (NIB), which seized narcotics valued at $350 million.
