Mahama names Kofi Boakye, Gbevlo-Lartey, Prosper Bani, others in National Security team
President-elect John Mahama has set up a six-member team to supervise and coordinate all national security matters until substantive appointments after his inauguration.
The team consists of past security chiefs with many years of expertise and experience and will be led by former Minister for the Interior, Prosper Bani.
Other members are Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay, a retired Chief of Defence Staff; Kofi Totobi Quakyi, a former Minister for National Security; Larry Gbevlo-Lartey, a former National Security Coordinator; Brigadier General (Rtd) Fuseini Iddrissu; and Commissioner of Police (Rtd) Nathaniel Kofi Boakye.
A press release by Special Aide, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said the decision reflects the President-Elect’s commitment to ensuring continuity and stability in the country’s security architecture during the transfer of power.
