Mahama meets Rawlings for “warm discussions”
Former President John Dramani Mahama has held talks with former President Jerry John Rawlings to discuss party issues ahead of the 2020 elections.
The two ex-presidents discussed matters relating to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Mr Mahama’s bid to be President again.
Details of the meeting on Saturday, July 4, have not been made public.
However, Mr Mahama took to Twitter to announce that he had “very warm discussions as always” with the Founder of the NDC.

A running mate for Mr Mahama has been topical among NDC officials, with several names popping up as possible candidates.
It is believed that the issue was one of the main issues the former leaders deliberated upon.
Mr Rawlings also did the same on his Twitter page.

Mr Mahama was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole Bamboi from 1997 to 2009 and Minister of Communications from 1998 to 2001 under Mr Rawling’s government.
He later become Vice President on 2009 and completed the NDC’s tenure after the then President Mills died in office on July 24, 2012.
Mr Mahama completed a full term after winning the 2012 elections but lost to the New Patriotic Patrty’s Nana Akufo-Addo on 2016.
He is aiming for a comeback to unseat Mr Akufo-Addo in the 2020 polls.
Great to hear that there was a warm discussion, respect to the JJR is paramount, his ideas neat and support is highly needed to sustain and win election 2020.
