Mahama meets Commonwealth executives over election result discrepancies
The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has met executives of Commonwealth over election discrepancies.
The former president and his team on Friday, December 18, 2020, met the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, Patricia Scotland, over the 2020 elections results in discrepancies.
“Together with Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the NDC National Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, and others, we briefed the Secretary-General on the basis of our position on the results declared by the Electoral Commission,” Mr Mahama wrote in a Facebook post.
Mr Mahama and the NDC have refused to concede defeat to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and President Akufo-Addo.
According to the NDC, the 2020 general election was rigged and therefore, will not accept the result.
The party has, therefore, scheduled a series of demonstrations across the country to register its discontent.
“We are gathering all our evidence and conduct an audit on all the pink sheets we have available before heading to court but in the meantime, we have the constitutional rights to organise demonstrations,” Baba Jamal said in an interview on Okay FM.
