Mahama Halts Campaign In Assin North After Fatal Accident Involving NDC Supporter
One person has been confirmed dead in an accident involving supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Assin North Constituency.
The incident occurred as the supporters, who had gathered to campaign with the NDC Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, were returning from an event in Dansame on Saturday, June 17.
The accident resulted in multiple injuries with varying degrees of severity. Given the latest development, former President Mahama decided to suspend his campaign activities for two hours to visit the injured persons.
Expressing his deep sorrow, Former President Mahama took to his official Facebook page to extend his condolences to the bereaved family.
He stated, “Unfortunately, we lost one of our comrades who enthusiastically joined others to the programme. Our condolences to her family.”
He also mentioned that he wouldl lead the party in paying a visit to the deceased’s family.
The incident has cast a sombre atmosphere over the Assin North Constituency and the NDC as they mourn the loss of a dedicated supporter.
