The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has paid a visit to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, to commiserate with him over the death of his wife, Hajia Ramatu Sharubutu.
The wife of the National Chief Imam sadly passed during the month of Ramadan on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
The cause of the death of the aged woman was not revealed, but she was buried according to the Islamic tradition on the same day.
A statement issued by the Chief Imam’s spokesperson, Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu, copied to The Ghana Report, on that fateful day confirmed that a Janazah prayer was held in the residence of the National Chief Imam before her burial.
Other prominent members of the NDC who accompanied former President John Mahama were Haruna Iddrisu, former Minority Leader of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Tamale South; Mahama Ayariga, MP for Bawku Central; Abdullai Abu Sadiq, a parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the NDC at Okaikoi Central Constituency; and other party supporters.
