Mahama Ayariga Re-elected Bawku Central NDC Parliamentary Candidate

The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, has been re-elected to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency.

Mr Ayariga contested against Ustarz Jibreal Sa-adu and Theo Braimah Awanzam for the seat.

He won the election with 863 votes against 283 and 96 votes secured by Jibreal Sa-adu and Theo Braimah Awanzam.

The voting started at about 8 am and ended at around 2 pm Saturday afternoon, with many voters exercising their rights.

The total number of registered voters was 1379, and the voter turnout was 1246.

Meanwhile, John Mahama pulled up a margin of 1201 votes in the presidential primaries against former Kumasi mayor Kojo Bonsu’s 24 votes.

Dr Kwabena Duffuor, who withdrew from the race on Friday following what he described as discrepancies in the voter register, polled 9 votes.
