Maamobi violence: Police place GH₵20,000 bounty on gun-toting hoodlum

The Ghana Police Service has placed a GH₵20,000 bounty on Fatua Motorway, the suspect seen in a viral video wielding a gun during the shooting incident at the Maamobi political walk.

In a statement on Monday, October 21, 2024, the police urged the public to provide information that could lead to his arrest.

“The Ghana Police Service is still on a manhunt for suspect Fatau Motorway, who has been declared wanted in connection with the disturbances that occurred between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Mamobi, Accra, on 13 October 2024”.

“The Police are appealing to the public to support Police intelligence-led efforts by providing information that could lead to his arrest”.

“A reward of GHC20,000.00 has been offered for anyone who provides credible information leading to his arrest,” the police statement said.

The police launched a manhunt for Fatua Motorway and others following the clash between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The disturbances recorded during the political campaign walk on October 13, 2024, at Maamobi, led to two people being shot and four others sustaining injuries.
