Luis Suarez is my inspiration – Clemento Suarez
Popular Ghanaian comedian Clemento Suarez has made an astonishing revelation that legendary Uruguayan Footballer Luis Suarez is his inspiration.
Luis Suarez’s infamous handball incident denied Ghana a place in the 2010 World Cup semifinals. The former Barcelona striker was sent off for keeping out Dominic Adiyiah’s goal-bound header with his hands in the final minute of extra time in the 2010 quarterfinal in Soccer City, South Africa.
Although Ghana was awarded a penalty to try to win the game, which was tied at 1-1, Asamoah Gyan missed his spot-kick and Uruguay went on to book a semifinal against the Netherlands by winning 4-2 on penalties.
The incident was one of the most controversial in World Cup history and denied Ghana the chance to become the first African nation to reach the semifinals of the competition.
Speaking on Channel One TV‘s entertainment talk show ‘The Chat‘, Clemento Suarez named Luis Suarez as his inspiration.
According to Clemento Suarez who was on the show to promote ”You Play Me, I Play You, stage play “Me too that is where my motivation comes from …He is my inspiration..when he [Luis Suarez] did that that is where I made my name Clemento Suarez”.
