Love Potions For Pleasure; Are They Necessary?

Source The Ghana Report

In search of ever-lasting love, some people think of love potions or charms being the solution to it all. But the question is do they actually last long?

“I charmed my husband, Kelvin into marriage. And guess what, after a year in the marriage it was hell for me. I didn’t enjoy my marriage because it was full of disrespect, and cheating from my husband whom I housed and catered for without any form of reciprocation. Eventually, my husband sacked me from our matrimonial home.”

I read this in a post on Facebook some months ago. The anonymous woman apparently used a love charm on her husband and after realizing that the charm did not last, she decided to tell people about her experience.

So now that we know that love charms and the likes don’t last, why do you worry yourselves over it?

Why try to convince the masses that there are oils that can make a man or a woman stay after intercourse?

Lately, social media has been flooded with commercials of love potions popularly known as kayan mata. This has led to a trend where we see young girls using these charms on men to make them more attached to them.

Kayan mata basically is a group of traditional medicines used by women for sexual pleasure, enhancers, or aphrodisiacs in Northern Nigeria – especially by young brides.

In recent times, these sex enhancers are not restricted to Northern Nigeria or to married women alone. The product is now peddled on the Internet as voodoo-like herbs for young ladies to ‘catch’ their desired suitors. Apparently, they work too! I have seen the ads on Instagram, advertising potions that can give a girl the power to “catch” any rich man who comes her way and “command” him to do her bidding.

These products come in different forms like beads, necklaces, rings, perfumes, oils, and lipsticks among others.

The implications of these products on men according to some reviews from the vendors of the products, is that the men become hypnotised after using them.

The men, in this case, start fulfilling the wishes of these women after having sex with them. Some of the men end up giving the women a lot of money, and expensive gifts among others.

Recently, Ghanaian socialite, Hajia Bintu attracted backlash following a viral video that captured her promoting Kayan mata products.

Testifying the goodness of the so-called powerful Kayan mata product, she explained that any woman who purchases them will automatically be gifted large sums of money by any man she comes in contact with whether through sexual intercourse or just a handshake.

She added that male sponsors or as she puts it ‘Papa No’ who prove stubborn when asked for money will succumb to a woman who uses the said product.

Bintu listed them as: “Fuck & Stay, Attraction To Rich Men, Love & Pay, Love Me Alone, and Do As I Say”, among others.

Many celebrities in Ghana often promote these products without talking about their consequences. The truth is the side effects are dire.

1. Vaginal infections- women who frequently use these products are at great risk of introducing bacteria inside their bodies and as a result develop pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). The symptoms of PID are fever, vaginal discharge, foul vaginal odour, pain during intercourse, irregular menstrual periods, and tubal blockage.

2. Liver Failure- Kayan mata is a herbal preparation that just like every other drug is excreted by the liver.
The ingredients or byproducts in kayan mata may be toxic or poisonous to the liver and this can lead to liver failure.

3. Kidney Failure

4. Dryness and pain during intimacy.

5. Diabolical disadvantages- Sometimes you cannot break away from this spell or spirit even if you want to. There is a story about a girl who used it on a man, the man apparently had more potent potions which killed her.

Another lady who also bought and used an attraction potion now attracts only “mad men”. Literally, in traffic, they approach her and try to touch her, they chase her around town, sometimes more than one at a time. When she complained to the vendor she bought it from, she told her to go to Benin to see the original seller. There is no other way to undo this charm.

The bottom line is that love potions or charms don’t last and it will always have a negative effect on victims so why waste your time?
