LIVE: NDC decides on Parliamentary Candidates for 2020 polls

The largest opposition party in the country, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is currently holding primaries to decide on candidates to represent the party in the 2020 Parliamentary elections.

Today’s election is taking place across all 16 regions in the country in 157 constituencies after the party cleared 524 aspirants to contest the election today, August 24, 2019.

The Greater Accra Region has the highest number of 31 constituencies billed for the first batch of primary elections

The rest are Volta Region, 17; Northern Region, 15; Central, 13; Upper East, 13; Eastern, 10; Upper West, 9; Bono East, 9; Bono, 8; Oti,8; Western, 6; North East, 4; Savannah, 4; Western North, 12; Ashanti, 3 and Ahafo, 1.

Counting is said to be underway in a number of constituencies with results already trickling in.
