Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has called on all New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to maintain a united front in preparation for the December 2024 general elections.
He spoke to journalists at his residence after securing an impressive 68.15% of the total valid votes, placing him in first place.
Dr Bawumia expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by the party.
He cautioned, however, that the victory in this stage of the process was just the beginning, with the ultimate goal being a triumphant performance in the December 2024 elections.
“The main event is December 2024, and as we all work together, we have to keep in mind that what we are working towards is a win in December 2024,” Dr Bawumia stated, acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead.
Dr Bawumia’s plea was directed at the party’s leadership, urging them to put aside their differences and focus on achieving victory in the upcoming elections.
“We have to all work together and not destroy this very important unity that we have,” he added.
