Legon Cities players boycott training ahead of Nsoatreman FC clash

Legon Cities FC players have boycotted training due to unpaid salaries and bonuses ahead of their Ghana Premier League game against Nsoatreman FC.

The players have gone three months without receiving their salaries, and other winning bonuses with recent one being their 1-0 triumph over Nations FC in week 22.

The boycott of training by the players highlights the financial difficulties faced by many clubs in Ghana’s Premier League.

As the team geared up for week 23 against Nsoatreman FC, the entire playing body refused to show up at training on Wednesday.

It is said the players are ready to boycott training throughout the week if the issue is not addressed by the leadership of the club.

Legon Cities have yet to live up to expectations since the resumption of the Ghana Premier League last month.

Five games into the second half of the campaign, the Royals have managed just a win and a draw, losing the other three games in the process.

With 28 points, Legon Cities find themselves in the 13th position of the domestic top-flight standings and must play above themselves to push further on the table.
