After resigning as the Majority leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu showed up in parliament today.
But for the first time, the former Majority Leader resorted to a back seat, instead of his usual front seat on the right side of the Speaker of Parliament.
Although some Members of Parliament including Deputy Majority Chief Whip Habib Iddrisu approached and asked him to take his original seat, he declined.
Rather, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu occupied K.T Hammond’s seat.
It will be recalled that in the evening of Wednesday, February 21, 2024, news broke that Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu had resigned, with immediate effect from his position as Majority Leader of Parliament.

According to sources close to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), he has handed the role over to his deputy, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.
This was disclosed during a meeting between the Majority of MPs and President Nana Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
At a press briefing on Tuesday, February 20, the First Deputy Speaker and Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Joseph Osei Owusu, vehemently refuted all claims of changes in their leadership.
