Kumawu By-Election: NPP, NDC Deploy Prominent Figures As Polling Agents
The two leading political parties have deployed prominent party figures as polling agents in the ongoing Kumawu by-election.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has mobilized all 47 Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Ashanti Region, along with many legislators and deputy ministers, to serve as polling agents.
Similarly, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has highlighted the significance of the by-election by deploying high-ranking party officials and MPs as polling agents.
Notably, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, represents the NDC as a polling agent in the electoral process. Additionally, Robert Kwakye, the Municipal Chief Executive for Asante Akyem Central, is a polling agent for the NPP.
The presence of these prominent party figures as polling agents underscores the importance both the NPP and NDC attach to the Kumawu by-election.
By fielding experienced individuals in these roles, the parties aim to closely monitor the electoral proceedings and ensure the interests of their respective candidates are safeguarded.
As the by-election continues, the role of these polling agents will be vital in ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process. Their involvement reflects the parties’ commitment to participate in the democratic exercise taking place in Kumawu actively.
Ernest Yaw Anim is the NPP candidate, Kwasi Amankwaa represents the NDC, and two independent candidates both go by the name Kwaku Duah.
In all, 34,000 voters are expected to cast their ballot, which will take place in 75 polling stations.
