Kumasi, Tamale airports increase operational hours
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have announced extended operating hours for Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi and Tamale International Airport, effective June 1, 2025.
The move is intended to enhance accessibility and provide greater convenience for travellers flying to and from these key regional hubs.
Under the new schedule, Prempeh I International Airport will remain open until 11:00 p.m., extending its previous closing time of 8:00 p.m.
Tamale International Airport will also see its closing time extended from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Authorities say the adjustments are part of broader efforts to boost air travel, support regional connectivity, and accommodate increasing passenger traffic.
A statement issued by the two institutions said, “A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued by Ghana Civil Aviation Authority to all airlines.”
The GCAA has also advised domestic airlines to adjust their schedules accordingly.
“Domestic airlines have been advised to increase their frequency to and from both airports,” the statement added.
The general public is encouraged to take note of the changes and plan their travel accordingly.
