Former First Lady, Theresa Kufuor is alive and well contrary to speculations the rather reserved woman has passed on, a Senior Aide to former President Kufuor has said.
According to a statement signed by Kwabena Osei-Adubofour, “Mrs. Theresa Kufuor has not passed away. She is alive and currently in her residence at Airport Residential Area”.
The statement however clarifies that rather, a sister to the former First Lady, Mary Mensah has passed on. She reportedly died on Thursday, August 29.
“Regrettably, I can, however, confirm the passing away of a younger sister to the former First Lady, Madam Mary Mensah, which sad event occurred on Thursday morning, 29th of August, 2019. May her soul rest in peace.”
Reports were rife on social media Friday morning that the former First Lady, who has not been seen in public lately, had passed on. But the Senior Aide to Mr. Kufuor has dispelled those rumours.
Dr. Osei-Adubofour “wants to assure all well-wishers and loved one to disabuse their minds of the fact that Ghana has lost the former first lady”, a statement released concluded.
