The spokesperson for former President John Agyekum Kufuor has debunked reports that the former head of state is dead.
A statement issued by Kufuor’s office and signed by Dr Kwabena Osei-Adubofour, his senior aide and spokesman, said the report is false and should be disregarded by the public.
Dr Osei-Adubofour explained that over the past few days, there were several rumours indicating that the former president was dead.
In response, the office has emphasized that these reports are entirely misleading and that former President Kufuor is alive and in good health.
“We, therefore, urge the general public to disabuse their minds of these malicious and uncanny rumours that spring out of nothing. The office further urges those who may be behind the propagation of such wicked untruths to desist from them henceforth; there have been far too many”.
“We can only speculate that the perpetrators do so out of mischief-making and possibly for unfathomable political purposes,” the statement added.
He assured the nation that the former president continues to carry out his duties, exhibiting good health and an unwavering commitment to his various engagements.
