Kotoko defender Emmanuel Kotei undergoes successful surgery
Asante Kotoko defender Emmanuel Kotei has undergone a successful surgery after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The right-back picked up the injury during training last week and was immediately given early treatment by the club’s medics before arranging for his surgery.
Kotei went under the knife on Wednesday and will begin his rehabilitation as soon as possible despite being ruled out for the rest of the campaign. The time for his return has not been given due to the serious nature of the injury.
Meanwhile, the Porcupine Warriors signed defender Daniel Adrien Adjetey as replacement for the injured Kotei.
“With Kotei’s unfortunate ACL injury, it was important that we reacted in the market,” said coach Prosper Ogum.
“In Daniel, we are not just bringing in a player but someone who brings quality, experience, and competitiveness.
