Konigsdorffer, Kamaldeen to join Meteors after Black Stars game

Kamaldeen Sulemana and Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer, who are currently in camp with the Black Stars, are expected to join the Black Meteors after Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Madagascar on Sunday.

The pair, alongside Black Meteors prodigy Ernest Nuamah, would join the team in Cairo, where the national under-23 side is expected to camp till June 24 and then head to Morocco for the tournament.

Ghana’s under-23 side left the country on Monday for Cairo, Egypt. 

While in Cairo, the team is expected to play some friendly games, including a match against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

The Black Meteors have been paired alongside the host nation, Morocco, Guinea and Congo in Group A.

Ghana is expected to start their campaign against Congo on June 25 before taking on Morocco and Guinea on June 27 and June 30, respectively.

The two teams that qualify for the final and the third-placed team automatically qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament in Paris, while the 4th-placed will play in the AFC –CAF playoff to decide the final slot for the Olympics.
