KOKA’s case adjourned to October 23

Businessman and former Marketer for Gospel Musician Ohemaa Mercy has been admitted to a two thousand cedis bail with one surety by an Accra Circuit Court.

The accused Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu popularly known as KOKA was put before the Court last Thursday, September 19, 2024, and remanded for allegedly threatening to harm Ohemaa Mercy who he claims owes him 8,500 cedis.

He worked as a team member for Ohemaa Mercy since 2021 until recently when he decided to quit the group. Following his exit from the team, he allegedly sent audio recordings demanding his money and further threatening the musician.

He is alleged to have threatened to organize his boys to come after the Gospel musician if she failed to pay him the said money. On his second appearance before the Court today the prosecution informed Judge Kwabena Kodua Obiri Yeboah that Ohemaa Mercy and KOKA have made attempts to settle their differences in the interest of peace considering the relationship between them.

The prosecution said the efforts has been hindered because the accused was in custody.

The Defence Lawyer Norman Williams prayed the court to admit his client to bail as his continuous incarceration would affect his work in the Creative Arts industry. He said KOKA is well known in the industry and will avail himself to the court at all times.

The case has been adjourned to October 23, 2024 where the parties will provide details of the settlement to the Court.
