All is set for the final funeral rites of renowned Ghanaian gospel musician, Kofi Dua Anto, popularly known as KODA, this weekend.
The burial service for the ‘Nkwa Abodoo’ hitmaker is this Friday, September 20, 2024, at the KICC Dominion Centre, Spintex Road in Accra.
Initially, the family announced July 5, 2024, as the burial.
However, the date was changed to September 20, 2024.
The family officially communicated the change of date through the Facebook page of the deceased.
The post read, “We wish to inform all well-wishers, friends, ministry partners, and the general public that the date for the celebration of life for our beloved brother Kofi Dua Anto has been changed from 5th July 2024 to 20th September 2024”.
The time is 8:00 am and an all-white attire.
He died at 45 years old and was survived by his wife and three children.
The news of his death went viral, with several gospel players expressing their shock and grief at the death of the stalwart.
Among them was gospel musician, Empress Gifty, who posted on Facebook, “I hope it’s not true” with crying emojis to confirm it.

Gospel musician Nii Okai, a very close friend of the deceased also confirmed KODA’s demise.
He said, ” I wish I could tell you another thing but that’s the truth. KODA is dead”.
KODA, celebrated for his uplifting melodies and soulful compositions, was not just a singer but a producer who left an indelible mark on the Ghanaian music scene.
With hits like ‘Nsempii,’ ‘Nkwa Abodoo,’ ‘Yapai,’ and ‘Adorso’ to his credit, his music resonated deeply with audiences, inspiring hope and faith.
