Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer Gregory Bortey Newman popularly known as King Promise, has apologised to his fans for not performing at the Wizkid Live Concert on December 10, 2022, as promised.

This was after the headlines performer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, called off the show without reason.

King Promise apologised to all his fans via his Twitter handle on Sunday, December 11, 2022, for the disappointment caused on Saturday, December 10, 2022.

Wizkid had earlier apologised to all his fans for cancelling his debut show in Ghana.

“Ghana is a country I hold so dear to my heart. First and foremost, I wanna apologise to all my fans!
Y’all know I would never do anything without serious reasoning behind it.

“My brand is something I don’t joke with! I sincerely apologise to everyone who made the effort to come out to me last night. I was charged up and looking forward to doing this show. However, please understand that every decision I made co-sided with honouring my fans and would only make a drastic decision like this because it was the right to do and I had to,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, the patrons of the show have agreed to refund the cost of the ticket to fans who turned up for the programme only to be left disappointed.

Wizkid announced in November 2022 that his annual Wizkid Live Concert Show would be held in Ghana this year.

The award-winning musician promised to be on stage with other Ghanaian musicians, such as R2Bees, Efya, Darkovibes, and King Promise.

King Promise took delight in the concert and announced it on his social media handles, inviting all his fans to witness him perform live at the Wizkid Live Concert, only for him to disappoint on the day of the event.

Meanwhile,Β  Wizkid and King Promise have promised to schedule another date to thrill their fans as agreed.
