Actor-comedian Kevin Hart has been injured in the crash of a vintage muscle car in the hills above Malibu.

A California Highway Patrol collision report says the 40-year-old Hart was a passenger in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda that went off Mulholland Highway and rolled down an embankment around 12.45am on Sunday.

According to reports, the car smashed through wooden fencing along the roadside, with the vehicle’s roof being crushed by the impact.

According to the press release, “Two of the three occupants were trapped in the vehicle. The remaining occupant and owner of the vehicle, Kevin Hart, left the scene to his nearby residence to get medical attention.”

The report says Hart and the driver, 28-year-old Jared Black, both suffered “major back injuries” and were taken to hospitals, while another passenger, 31-year-old Rebecca Broxterman, only complained of pain.

Report say the fire department were forced to saw off the top of the car in order to free the trapped driver and female passenger.

Kevin bought the car back in July as a 40th birthday gift to himself and had posed alongside the new ride in a photo uploaded to Instagram with a caption that read, “I added some more muscle to the family for my 40th …. welcome home ‘Menace’ #MuscleCarLover”.

The driver of the car was “determined not to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.”
