After months of speculations, dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has confirmed that his protégé, Kelvyn Boy is no longer with his Burniton Music Group label.
A statement released on Tuesday confirmed speculations that all was not well between the award-winning artiste and the artiste he mentored for over a year now.
The statement said the decision to sever ties with Kelvyn Boy was as a result of an “audit” conducted by Burniton Music Group.
The label said an initial one year contract they signed with the young artiste expired on January 21, 2019, but after the “audit” it has no intentions of renewing it.
“Consequently, the Company has decided to release Kelvyn Boy from the Agreement and he has been duly notified of this decision. Accordingly, Kelvyn Boy ceases to be an artiste under the Company and will no longer be associated with the Company and/or the BHIM Nation brand…,” the statement said.
Since Stonebwoy unfollowed Kelvyn Boy on Instagram for being ‘ungrateful’, many questions have been asked about happenings in the BHIM Nation camp.
Information gathered that the team for some time now has had disagreements pertaining to the management of artistes on the label, particularly Kelvyn Boy.
The statement by Burniton Music Group, which Stonebwoy is the President, is coming after Kelvyn Boy had rendered an unqualified apology to Stonebwoy for disrespecting him.
Kelvyn Boy was seen in a video, kneeling to express his remorse before patrons during his performance in Italy over the weekend.
“People wey you dey here, please help me plead with Stonebwoy for forgiveness ok, everyone that knows Stonebwoy, please help me tell him I am sorry,” Kelvyn Boy said in the video.
Blakk Cedi no longer my manager – Stonebwoy
Barely a week ago – Friday, September 20 – Stonebwoy had revealed in an interview on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty that his longtime friend and working partner, Blakk Cedi is no longer his manager.
According to him, the decision is part of structural amendments that have been made at his Burniton Music Group label.
Per the new adjustments, Blakk Cedi is now an agent for Stonebwoy.
The revelation follows weeks of speculations that the artiste and his long-time manager had parted ways.
“There have been structural amendments at Burniton Music Group and therefore, going forward, Blakk Cedi is now my agent. He is not my manager but he is more than a manager now,” the ‘Tuff Seed’ hit singer disclosed.
As things stand now, a talented young female act, OV and Stonebwoy are the only artistes on the Burniton Music Group label.
