Keep morale high and ensure stability — IGP to Police Officers

Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohunu, has urged officers of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) to uphold high morale and enhance their efforts in fighting crime throughout the nation, assuring them of the government’s steadfast support.

During the handing-over ceremony for newly acquired armoured vehicles on Thursday, December 4, the IGP commended officers for their unwavering commitment but emphasised the necessity for renewed vigour as the country approaches the festive season.

“Our assurance to you is that the vehicles will be well-maintained and strategically deployed to achieve the intended objectives. The government has done its part. I urge you to keep morale high, intensify the momentum, and let us forge ahead in our collective resolve to keep the peace,” he stated, adding that the nation is counting on the police to maintain stability and security.

He also reassured the public of the Service’s ongoing vigilance on the roads and in communities, promising a safe environment for all.

“We want to assure the public that we will continue to ensure safety on our roads and within our communities to enable everyone to go about their duties without fear,” he noted.
