Kamaldeen Sulemana transfer to Ajax collapses

The proposed move of Kamaldeen Sulemana to Ajax has collapsed due to documentation issues.

The Dutch club had agreed to sign the Ghanaian winger on a season-long loan from Southampton, with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Sulemana was expected to fill the void left by Steven Bergwijn’s departure to Saudi Arabia.

However, the deal has been cancelled due to paperwork problems, bringing an abrupt end to the transfer negotiations.

Kamaldeen Sulemana signed with Southampton in January 2023 for €25 million, following an impressive record with the French side Rennes.

During his time at Rennes, he made 47 appearances, scored six goals, and provided four assists. Since joining the English club, he has made 44 appearances, scored two goals, and contributed four assists.

However, he has been sidelined due to an injury this season, causing him to miss both Premier League action and Ghana’s important AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

With his proposed move to Ajax now off the table, Sulemana is poised to return to action with Southampton in the Premier League once he recovers from his injury.
