Juvenile footballers killed in Offinso accident buried

The country in the early hours of today, October 1 was thrown into state mourning as a funeral service for the young footballers who perished in the accident at Offinso some weeks ago was held. 

Four of the footballers who are Muslims were buried a few days after the accident in line with Islamic customs.

The young footballers namely; Ofori Amanfo Ramsey, Alex Agyemang, Antwi Richmond, Abdulai Jamal, Hubert Anaba, Boakye Samuel, and Kwame Opoku who met their untimely death when the minibus they were traveling in crashed into the Offin River.

They were part of a colts club named Africa Vision Football Academy.

The team was returning to home-based Offinso from Kumasi after completing their colts football registration exercise for the upcoming season.

In attendance were a GFA delegation was led by Vice President, Mark Addo, Youth and Sports Minister, Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Offinso Manhene, Nana Wiafe Akenten III, as well as family members and sympathizers.

The incident sent shock waves throughout the footballing world with both FIFA and CAF paying their tribute in the aftermath of the sad accident.

Many could not control their emotions as tears run down their faces as they witness the burial service.
