The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, and her entourage narrowly escaped death in a harrowing accident at Komenda Junction on the Accra – Cape Coast highway.
The incident happened on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
Information gathered indicates that Dorcas Affo-Toffey and her team were returning from a campaign launch at Half Assini.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:05 am while Madam Dorcas Affo-Toffey and her team were returning to Accra.
According to eyewitnesses, the scene was terrifying because two heavy trucks attempted to overtake each other, but one driver, who seemed to be dozing off, lost control.
In a desperate bid for survival, the driver of Madam Affo-Toffey veered off the road into a nearby bush to avoid a deadly collision.
The MP and three others who were in the car were rushed to the hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
Their Ford Raptor vehicle was badly damaged but the victims are in stable condition and responding to treatment.
