John Mahama Eulogises Former First Lady Theresa Kufuor

Former President John Dramani Mahama has eulogised former First Lady Theresa Aba Kufuor for her invaluable service to the nation.

Speaking at the state burial for the former first lady at the forecourt of the State House on Thursday, November 16, 2023, the former president said Ghana had become poorer over the loss of the late Theresa Kufuor.

“She was a great person, she was a good first lady, she was very respectable, and Ghana is poorer for a death. And so we wish her a perfect rest and extend our condolences to the former president,” Mr Mahama said.

Mrs Kufour died at her home in Peduase on Sunday, October 1, at 87.

The final funeral rites will be performed for the former first lady at the Heroes Park in Kumasi on Saturday, November 18.

She will be given a private burial.

Thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at St. Peter’s Basilica, Kumasi, at 10:00 a.m.

Mrs Theresa Aba Kufuor is survived by her husband, H.E John Agyekum Kufuor (Former President of the Republic of Ghana), and five children: J. Addo Kufuor, Nana Ama Gyamfi, Saah Kufuor, Agyekum Kufuor, and Owusu Afriyie Kufuor.
