John Dumelo attempted to steal & respray state owned V8 – Rex Omar
NDC parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo has been criticized over his controversial acquisition of a state-owned Land Cruiser V8 vehicle.
Mr. Dumelo was criticized by Rex Omar who is also member of the NDC. Mr. Omar shared a video of John Dumelo struggling to explain his side of the story to hard hitting questions by a host on Citi Tv on how he acquired the vehicle that was repossessed by the state.
It is public knowledge that national security operatives in 2017 re-possessed the vehicle after it was found the car belonged to the state.
The actor was reportedly trying to get the the black Land Cruiser with registration GE 8118-16 re-sprayed. But he has explained, he had made part payment for the vehicle even though he knew it was a state property.
“…at that point in time when I was paying for the vehicle, it’s not a matter of it’s for the government or not. It was a matter of, okay John, when you finish paying, we’ll just do the change of ownership…” he explained in the interview with Citi TV.
But his colleague in the entertainment industry and also within his party was not impressed.
Rex Omar took to Twitter to share the video and said John Dumelo attempted to steal the state property, an allegation the actor has repeatedly denied.

A vehicle you @johndumelo1 claim you had not paid for in full, you were aware it belongs to the state and you tried to respray it. pic.twitter.com/a6uRg3y82r
