I’ve screws and a metal fixed in my arm – Nana Ama McBrown
Popular Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown has opened up about her struggles with a crippling hand injury she sustained in an accident in 2013.
In an interview on Starr Chat, Nana Ama McBrown revealed that the accident left her with metal and screws in her arm after undergoing surgery on her right hand four times.
Although the celebrated actress has undergone multiple surgeries, she candidly admitted that she continues to endure devastating pain, which has substantially affected her daily activities and professional endeavours.
In a bid to finally find relief, she is slated for yet another surgery, which she fervently hopes will mark the end of her prolonged suffering and pave the way for a pain-free life.
“I’m going through a lot of pain, I’ve done surgery on this right hand for four good times. I can stretch it but there’s a lot of pain. I’m going through a lot and I’m going for another surgery and I hope that one will be my last one.
“It has not been easy and I’m going through all this from the accident. I have metal and screws so any little thing and it shifts, it’s either it breaks or the screw comes out, I need to go for surgery.
“I’ve done four surgeries, three in Ghana and one in Germany. I’m going back for the last one and hopefully that one, God will …,” she said.
The host of Onua Showtyme said the scar on her arm reminds her of how fragile life is and introspectively noted that people often have little to no say in the events that unfold in their lives or the way life chooses to unfold.
“When I see the scar, it reminds me of how fragile life is and how you can do nothing about it. If there’s a situation and it doesn’t kill you, the next thing is to heal and move on,” she stated.
