Ivan Quashigah mourns the passing of Vincent McCauley

Ivan Quashigah, the producer of ‘Things We Do For Love,’ has expressed sadness following the death of Vincent McCauley, the well-known actor in the series.

In a post on Instagram, the producer said despite being aware of McCauley’s health challenges, he was unaware of the severity of his illness.

“Vincent! What do I do with the new scripts? This cuts really deep! While shooting YOLO 7, you had to miss the filming of some scenes and I was left to find a way out. The gentleman you were, you made it a point to come to the office to personally apologize. Unfortunately, I did not notice the severity of your condition because as usual, you gave us your signature handshake that almost removed our arms from our bodies”.

“Yesterday, I made a mental note to call to discuss the new project and to find out if you were up for it. I failed to call. Hmmm. Just last year we lost your screen cousin in ‘Things we do for love’ Marleen (Lois) and your boss in Inspector Bediako – Ekow Blankson. Now you?. Lord teach us how to number our days and to recognize how few they are and help us to spend them as we should. Your word says in all things we should give thanks but this really, really hurts. Rest in Peace Nephew,” Ivan Quashigah posted.

Meanwhile, colleagues in the movie industry have also started eulogizing the celebrated actor.

Adjetey Annan, deeply affected by the loss, reminisced about their long-standing connection, “the tight hugs, the smile, the bulging eyes, the new words…we barely have recovered from losing Marlene (‘Lois’: your cousin in the series) and another member of the #thingswedoforlove family #vincentmacauley bids farewell,💔…not what we imagined beginning a new year…what deep pain! Rivals on set “Pusher & Max” since 1999 but cool guys off set. Thank you for being a part of the family and paying your dues well. Rest in perfect peace brother🙏”.

Lydia Forson also took to Instagram to express her shock and sadness, stating, “Such sad news to wake up to. Never without a smile, always gracious and so so kind. Rest Well Vincent… 💔”.

The actor who starred as Max in the series passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Although the cause of his death remains sketchy, it is alleged the iconic actor battled with a brain tumour.

The family is yet to announce the arrangements for his funeral.
