Inusah Fuseini, a former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources has expressed dissatisfaction over the appointment of Benito Owusu-Bio as advisor to the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources on Special Projects.

Owusu-Bio, the former Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources will be in charge of Lands and Forestry projects as an advisor to Samuel Abu Jinapor, and by the appointment letter, this takes effect from Monday, February 19, 2024.

A letter signed by Mr. Abu Jinapor to Mr. Owusu-Bio dated February 15, 2024, indicated that; “As you may be aware, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has, since 2021, embarked on several special projects aimed at efficient protection, utilization and management of the lands and natural resources of our country, as well as secure the well-being of our people. These, among others, include the National Alternative Employment and Livelihood Programme (NAELP)”.

The letter further said that the job would not be renumerated.

However, Mr. Fuseini in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on 3FM noted that “ It is even bizarre….he’s using the backdoor and it lends credence to the perception that Owusu Bio has an unfinished business over there and Abu Jinapor is bringing him back to continue his business…the Minister has advisors on implementing the government’s business…..for you to bring him back when again, you have the Minerals Commission…it beats my mind what Abu wants him to do there apart from superintend over his businesses, private interest”.
