It’s a privilege to manage the Black Stars – Milo

Head coach of the Black Stars Milovan Rajevac has spoken with pride on his first stint with the Black Stars from 2008-2010 where he led the country to the Quarter Finals of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

The Serbian believes it was a heculean adventure at that time to have paraded a star-studded squad to defy the odds in climbing the acme of world football in South Africa.

In an interview with Ghana Football Association, Milovan Rajevac was awed by the fact that the decision to risk a blend of the young and experience was the tonic for the country’s triumph at the world stage.

“We really had a great relationship and understanding. I managed to set up a great team who played for top clubs in Europe together with young Stars who had won the U-20 world like Samuel Inkoom, Opoku Agyemang, Kwadwo Asamoah where Kevin Prince Boateng joined the team to make Ghana proud,” Milo said

“I was privileged to have managed a team of such to reach the quarter-finals of the world cup,” he added.

The 67-year-old is on his second stint with the team and has enjoyed a stellar start to life as the Black Stars coach having won two in two games against Zimbabwe in the World Cup Qualifiers.

He will lead the country to battle in the last two qualifying games against South Africa and Ethiopia next month.

Ghana trails a point behind South Africa in Group G of the World Cup Qualifier in Africa with nine points after four games.
